1. Start by opening the image you want to use in Paint Shop Pro.
2. Make a new layer by navigating Layers >> New Raster Layer. A small window will pop up. Don't mind anything of this yet, so just press OK.
3. Now, fill the layer with any color actually. Change the Blend Mode from None to Exclusion, but also remember to change the transpary of the image. I have chosen to have 30% transpary in exactly this image. [You'll see on the picture below. Notice where I have marked out with a purple line]
